There's only one word than can describe seeing your name and a project you are so excited about, for a company you are stoked to be a part of, scrolling across a building across the street from the most famous arena in the world, Madison Square Garden... AWESOME. I accidentally noticed it as I was shooting a segment for the amazing new show I have the pleasure of hosting called The Bridge on Fuse.
After many years working behind the scenes on countless productions, I can say without batting an eye that I have never been part of anything with this much creativity, hard work and passion put into one "daily" (Tuesday - Friday) 30-minute show, especially about hip hop, a genre so near to my heart.
When I first joined the Fuse team this show was only going to be a countdown. While there's more than enough ways to flip that format, my team (shout out to “Demme Dirty Money”) and I realized that if we were going to do this, we had to do it right. In the words of Dead Prez, "it's bigger than hip hop." This culture, genre, art form, style, movement - whatever you call it - is bigger than anything folks thought it could be 10, 20 and certainly 30 years ago. We realized the only way to truly showcase hip hop's awesomeness, was to create a groundbreaking show, shot at a dope location, on a network that understands that, at the end of the day, music matters.
Because hip hop is so engrained in popular culture, we've created a show that illustrates the culture's prevalence around the world and how it bridges every topic... introducing The Bridge on Fuse.
On The Bridge on Fuse you'll see a side of your favorite artists, entertainers, designers, athletes and more that you won't see anywhere else. Plus, I'll introduce you to some really fascinating people you might not know but definitely should. You’ll even get to join me on my own adventures, all from the comfort of your own couch. Don't worry, we'll still be playing the best videos, from new joints to the classics (some of my personal faves).
If you’re hungry for a slice of life and pop culture through a hip hop lens, you've got to check out The Bridge on Fuse, every Tuesday through Friday at 4P/3C. I promise you don't want to miss it!
