ACL Fest 2012: Rufus Wainwright Chats Recent Wedding & Working With Mark Ronson

"Sean Lennon sang Y.M.C.A.!" Rufus Wainwright revealed about his summer wedding when we chatted with him during Day 2 of Austin City Limits Festival. The singer gushed about his famous friends who attended his recent nuptials to partner Jorn Weisbrodt.

"Yeah, I married my long-term boyfriend of seven years," Wainwright said. "It was a wonderful wedding. We did it in Montauk, New York.” The star-studded guest list included Yoko Ono, Julianne Moore, Sean Lennon, and Mark Ronson, who also produced Wainwright's seventh studio album, Out of the Game.

"The thing that is fantastic about Mark, as well as being one of the best-looking and most charming men on the planet," Wainwright said, "is he's also a real stickler for sound, and his albums always have a deep, warm tone to them. And for a singer it's really crucial, especially an odd singer as myself. So I'm very fortunate to have worked with him."

Wainwright also disclosed how actress Helena Bonham Carter landed her gig as the star of his music video, “Out of the Game”: “I've her known for a long time. She’s a very good friend of mine. Actually she was a bit of a stalker for a while. She would show up at my shows in these odd outfits and I thought, ‘Who is that crazy, homeless person...oh no, it’s Helena,'” he says jokingly. “But she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet.”
