Watch Bon Iver's Mystical Forest-Themed Video for "Beth/Rest"
Feel like watching a bizarre, half-psychedelic/half-new age-y video? Feel like doing so while listening to soulful folk rock? If so, the video for Bon Iver's recent single "Beth/Rest" is definitely for you.
The clip, co-directed by Bon Iver's Justin Vernon with documentary filmmaker Dan Huiting, follows a young couple as they trek through heavily light-saturated and fog-filled woods in glowing suits. Trees are climbed and, at one point, the young man, played by Bon Iver's Mike Noyce, sings along as his mouth fills with light. It all culminates as the couple walks towards a mysterious glow while members of Bon Iver play their instruments perched in lantern-filled trees.
As Justin Vernon put it in a press release: "It's kind of about two people who are truly meant for each other and what happens to their essence. How they connect is some other thing that we don't know how to really talk about."
So there you have it. Watch the video above.
