The Rolling Stones Bring on The Apocalypse in "Doom and Gloom" Video
We're so glad the Rolling Stones decided to make a video for "Doom and Gloom" because it's just another reason for us to watch Mick Jagger writhe around in those signature uncomfortably tight pants. It's also another reason for the Rolling Stones to remind us yet again what a sad state of affairs it is for us here on planet Earth, which the Rolling Stones have never had a problem reminding anyone about.
Directed by Jonas Akerlund, "Doom and Gloom" switches between scenes of Mick and Co. performing their song in some kind of post-Apocalyptic fallout shelter, a really sad girl wasting away in her lair (played by The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace) and various heavily-themed snapshots of how effed up things really are: the war between the rich and poor, the dangers of the stock market and, of course, zombies. One would maybe think of inserting some kind of zombie joke here (re: how old the Rolling Stones are), but save it! We don't know what kind of yoga Mick Jagger's dealing with, but it's working.
"Doom and Gloom" is one of two new songs off of GRRR!, the Stones' latest greatest hits package. The dudes hit the road this month for two American tour dates in honor of their 50th anniversary.
