Producer Benny Blanco's Parents Still Don't Get His Job

Even if you don't know Benny Blanco himself, you still know Benny Blanco. The Virginia native is only 24 years old but has already produced 15 No. 1 singles, including Katy Perry's "California Gurls," Britney Spears' "Circus," Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" and Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger." He's also pretty hilarious, as we found out when we recently sat down with him.

Despite his astronomical success, Benny still likes to keep it real. And by "keep it real" we mean, "Ask Jay-Z if he would fish out a million dollars from under a pile of poop." For real. Benny really asked Jay-Z that. His answer? You'll have to watch our interview to find out.

Benny might get his keeping it real-ness from his parents, who knock his career at home: "My dad's always like, 'What do you even do? You really don't do anything.' Any time I go into a studio, he doesn't believe I know how to touch anything. He's right, actually..."

No Doubt don't seem to think so. After becoming a fan of some of Benny's previous work, they asked to set up some writing time with him. Wish granted (obviously) and now there's a secret No Doubt/Benny Blanco track we're all waiting to hear. After telling Gwen & Co. they "don't suck," they started a song together: "We have a song that we started and we're working on it. We'll see if it goes anywhere. I hope so."
