Beat Junkies' DJ Rhettmatic Talks Rare Records, Vinyl Culture
For more than 20 years, L.A.-based turntablist crew Beat Junkies have been at the forefront of DJing, performing routines around the world and winning damn near every contest they enter.
As a founding member, DJ Rhettmatic has been there since the beginning. The West Coast champion of influential turntablist association DMC and member of the Team World Champions of the ITF (International Turntablist Federation), Rhettmatic has long staked his claim as one of the best DJs in the game.
On this episode of Crate Diggers, he takes us into the records that shaped him, showing off rare finds by Italian disco composer Giorgio Moroder, the first official Slum Village 12" (produced by J Dilla) and a stack of classic 45s. Check out the video above for more.
