Mac Millers' Parents Concerned by Son's Dark New LP
Are Mac Miller's parents the dopest around? All signs point to "yes."
The Pittsburgh MC tells Fuse that his parents even liked his nasty, Juicy J-assisted new track "Lucky Ass Bitch." "That's a banger!" his mom said when Miller played her the track, off his Macadelic EP.
And Mama Miller apparently hangs with superstars. "My mom met Thom Yorke in an elevator. He liked her and introduced her to the rest of Radiohead," he says. "My mom is a G! She's not afraid of anything."
The 21-year-old rapper's dad is a bit harsher: "You think Pitchfork was rough on me? My dad is way worse than f-cking Pitchfork!" he says with a laugh. "But I played him the new record and he said, 'As a fan of music, this is great.'"
Miller's new LP Watching Movies With the Sound Off—which he describes as "melancholy, sad and depressing"—concerned his parents, however. "My mom heard some records and was a little worried," he explains. "My dad said, 'As a fan, the music is awesome. As a father, I have to ask, 'Are you OK?'"
Just in time for Father's Day, watch Miller give love to his folks in the interview up top. Want more Mac Miller? Watch a special episode of Trending 10 on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30/6:30c! Use the Channel Finder to find Fuse in your area.
