EDM Producer Robert DeLong on Remixing Selena Gomez, AWOLNATION

EDM newcomer Robert DeLong is known for using video game controllers to manipulate sounds onstage. But if you think that's unique, check out his remix discography. The Washington state native has reworked tracks from pop superstars like Bruno Mars and Selena Gomez, as well as lesser-known acts like AWOLNATION and scores of underground indie acts. Backstage at Voodoo Music Fest in New Orleans, DeLong tells Fuse about his craft.

"It's been a lot of fun doing remixes for a variety of artists," he says. "Everybody from Selena Gomez on the super-pop side to indie artists like Pacific Air, which was one of my favorite remixes I did. You take source material and make something totally new out of it."

But the 27-year-old button-pusher is keen to expand his remix roster. "I'd love to work with Chvrches and Grouplove. Those are some of my favorite artists right now," he adds.
