Watch: Foo Fighters End Hiatus With Intimate Pizza Joint Concert
It's a cheesy way to kick off a comeback: Foo Fighters ended their hiatus with a surprise show at a tiny pizza joint this week—watch video footage above! Frontman Dave Grohl, who called the band's September 2012 gig their "last show for a long time," reformed the rock outfit an intimate set at aptly-named Rock & Roll Pizza in Los Angeles.
The band roared through 23 songs, including fan favorites like "Learn to Fly" (watch above) and "Everlong." The concert was a chance for the band to warm-up for two headlining shows at Mexico City's 55,000-capacity Foro Sol arena on December 11 and 13.
The live performances further fuel anticipation that a new Foo Fighters album is coming soon. Just this August, Grohl revealed that the band had finished writing for their upcoming eighth LP.
But back to the comeback show's location—a pizza joint. Ahem, a four-star pizza joint. With Macaulay Culkin's new pizza-obsessed Velvet Underground cover band and Beyonce's pepperoni pie-inspired outfit, it begs the very necessary question: Is pizza finally having its moment in the spotlight? Hey, it only took 125 years.
