Watch Drake Hit the Court at NBA Slam Dunk Contest
There's nothing quite like participating in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest to get your (and the rest of the world's) mind off of escalating feuds with Jay Z, Kanye West, Macklemore and Rolling Stone Magazine. At least that's what we imagine Drake was thinking when he hit the court for the celebrated basketball shindig last night.
Acting as the official ambassador of the Toronto Raptors (or just acting), Drizzy took up the job of hype man for Raptor star Terrence Ross.
This is how it all plays out:
The "Hold On, We're Going Home" rapper walks out onto the court ahead of Ross, flaunting a massive Slam Dunk trophy and doing "look at my guns" bicep curls for added flare.
He then holds the ball out (for completely unknown reasons and to the befuddlement of the announcers) so that Ross can grab it out of his hands and make an impressive between-the-legs jam.
As one commentator so aptly notes, "There's a reason he's a rapper."
But getting to act out a childhood fantasy as the on-court wingman for an NBA star was not the only thing Drake did last night.
He also served as the unofficial PR man for Lil' Wayne by announcing the May 5th release date of the hotly anticipated Tha Carter V.
Check out Drizzy's smooth moves above starting at the 1:05 mark.
