Fall Out Boy Had a GRAMMY Meltdown Because of Kanye West
In the latest episode of Fuse's digital series Backatcha, we sat down with Fall Out Boy and forced them to recall their first-ever GRAMMYs, for better or worse.
As it turns out, the memory isn't so pleasant for Patrick Stump. He was rooting hard for fellow Chicago musician Kanye West to take home Album of the Year at the 2006 GRAMMYs. And when U2's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb bested Kanye's Late Registration, Stump stormed out of the ceremony.
"I remember I was so excited, really hoping it would win Album of the Year. And I was so angry [it didn't] that I got in a limo, went straight to my hotel, took my little ascot off and went to Subway and got a sandwich," Stump says, now laughing. "I didn’t go to any of the after parties because I was mad."
