Mack Maine Talks Young Money's New Album, 2014 Plans

Young Money's new compilation album Young Money: Rise of an Empire was released on March 11, a date targeted by Lil Wayne's label for a very specific reason.

"It's Young Money: Rise of an Empire. Two days before we dropped it was 300: Rise of an Empire. So we played off the movie," label president and rapper Mack Maine told Fuse's Esteban Serrano about the album's timing. "So if we didn't do that we would have had to change the name and we wouldn't have been able to piggyback on the movie like we did."

But if all goes according to plan, the 12-song set—which includes tracks like Drake's "Trophies," Nicki Minaj's "Lookin Ass N---a," and songs from the entire stable of artists—will be just an appetizer for what the label has to offer in 2014. "I would like to see a single—at least a single—from each of these artists sitting here," said Mack Maine. "From there hopefully it births, like, beautiful careers and albums and LPs and EPs."

There is one beautiful YMCMB career, though, that may soon be coming to a close

"Carter V coming soon," Mack noted. "Wayne's going to be coming soon."
