Leave it to two of the biggest girl groups on the planet—and two of the most talented crews to take the crown on their respective seasons of The X Factor—to dish about first kisses and fighting over the shower backstage. Little Mix and Fifth Harmony met up at Fuse HQ and grilled each other about musical role models, life on the road and more.
First, Fifth Harmony took the mic to ask Little Mix a few questions, like whether they thought winning The X Factor was even possible for them. "There's never been a girl group to win The X Factor," says Perrie Edwards. "Every time they were on [X Factor UK], they would get kicked off. People just didn't take to girl bands as much. Every week, we'd brace ourselves." (They even got the "We're happy for you but devastated!" send-off clap down just in case.)
Fifth Harmony didn't let 'em off easy, though: They made them choose between some of their favorite bands, and the Little Mix girls couldn't do it. Destiny's Child vs. Spice Girls? Forget it. "How could you do that to us?! Half and half." The same goes for Icona Pop and Haim, who they love in equal measure. "We've met Haim and they're lovely people, but I love Icona Pop as well."
As for Fifth Harmony, they're huge Destiny's Child fans, too, and covered "Independent Women" for that reason. "We definitely knew we wanted to do a Destiny's Child cover just 'cause we all love them so much, and they're so talented," says Lauren Jauregui. "They really embody the whole group thing."
After touring with Demi Lovato for a spell, Fifth Harmony got close with their former X Factor judge, and Little Mix wanted to know one thing about Ms. Lovato that nobody knows. Ally Brooke: "It's so crazy that we used to be performing on X Factor and we'd be performing in front of her, and she'd critique us and everything... she's a really caring person. I love that about her."
There's more—break-up advice, fighting over showers on tour, gushing about Mel C—but you'll have to watch the clip to find out!
