What do an old lady pounding on an even older piano, people popping up out of volcanoes (or are those tree trunks?), 752 tambourines, horses and a creepy army of children working out their synchronized handclaps have in common? They're all in the crazy-creative new video for OneRepublic's "Love Runs Out," and it's just as weird as it sounds!
The song itself will have fans forgetting about the insanely catchy chorus of "Counting Stars," as it's a darker, driving foil to the smash that's long since become a playlist staple. The new single—the first to follow up the hits of 2013's Native—got a live debut on the season finale of The Voice, and the official video also banks on the song's drum addiction.
We'd even go as far as to say that OneRepublic's clearly been spending some time with the Imagine Dragons playbook (huge drums, obsessive pounding, tortured facial expressions, screaming, etc.,) but that isn't exactly a bad thing. Watch it above.
