After capturing the hearts of UK fans on The X Factor, Ella Henderson found herself heading Stateside to link up with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. After earning widespread praise for her cover of Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home," the 18-year-old talent shot straight to No. 1 in the UK with her debut single, "Ghost."
"It's just insane. It's probably the most humbling thing ever because these are people, growing up, I'd listen to and admire," Henderson told Trending 10 host Bridget Kelly. "They're your icons, your inspirations. And then getting to work with them and be in the same room as them—it's just amazing."
Noting Tedder's contagious energy, she compared him to Tigger. "His energy that he brings to a studio, you just bounce off it. He's like Tigger in the studio. It was weird when I met him for the first time because it was almost like I was being reintroduced to an old friend or something. He's got an incredible aura."
She also explained that despite being just 18 years old, singing about heavy topics doesn't really faze her. Having grown up with plenty of older siblings, Henderson always found herself acting more independent and being in a more mature mindset.
