With videography gems like "Here It Goes Again" and "This Too Shall Pass" already under their belts, OK Go continued their trend of dropping viral sensations with the June release of "The Writing's On the Wall." The first single off their upcoming album, Hungry Ghosts, the video features a crazy amount of optical illusions and seems to have inspired Apple's recent commercial, titled "Perspective."
Stopping by the Trending 10 set, members Damian Kulash and Tim Nordwind discussed the band's knack for producing memorable but low-budget videos. Do the alt-rock musicians ever feel the pressure from fans, and how do they keep themselves motivated?
"We get this question a lot," they explain. "From the inside, the pressure's always from yourself. We don't want to do the same thing we did last time, so there's some internal pressure to come up with an idea that's still exciting to us.
"It's like when you're writing songs, you're not always trying to out-do the last one–you're just trying to write a good song."
