Daily Clip: October 22, 2014

If you're interested in album sales, well...here's a doozy.

We haven't had one album released in 2014 that has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of over 1 million units. The Frozen soundtrack from Disney has actually sold over three million copies this year, but it came out in November of 2013.

So now we're here, nearing the end of October, and there isn't a 2014 release out now that looks poised to capture the platinum certification–so do we have any hope? A new Taylor Swift album in 1989 could be the answer, and Nicki Minaj, One Direction and Foo Fighters will all have a chance as well. Plus, those artists have the upcoming holiday season to help boost them into platinum status before the year's out.

What do you think? Will 2014 be the first year ever with no platinum albums released? Are sales down mainly due to the impact of streaming services? Check out today's daily clip above, and don't miss new episodes of Trending 10 weeknights at 5/4c! Find Fuse in your area.
