Ryan Tedder Helped The Script "Unlock Something" With Collaborative "Flares"
The Script released No Sound Without Silence in the U.S. last week, and the Irish pop-rockers are aiming for the second top-10 debut on the Billboard 200 in their career. One of the songs that's helping them get there is "Flares," which was co-written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder while the bands were on tour together.
"We had the song, it was floating around for a while, and we'd written actually in Dublin," the band remembers. "[Ryan Tedder] heard the chorus and he was like, 'You know, if you just changed one or two things in that chorus I think it could be better.' He's such a heavyweight that if he says something, you might as well listen."
The band continued, saying that Tedder's input was invaluable and "unlocked something" in the chorus of "Flares." They'll always cherish the opportunity to collaborate with OneRepublic on the road.
