One of the biggest events in country music happened last night, as the CMA Awards held their annual ceremony–but a couple of pop stars hopped into the action as well.
Meghan Trainor, whose song "All About That Bass" has been simply unmissable this year, partnered up with Miranda Lambert for a twangy version of the tune. It's certainly not the easiest song to turn into a country ballad, but the two did an admirable job in their duet–check out a video of the performance.
Ariana Grande got in the action as well, bursting onto the stage with Little Big Town to perform "Bang Bang" with help from the country group. Grande didn't go to quite the effort that Trainor did, as she performed the song in a fairly standard manner rather than "countrifying" it.
It was a role reversal night for country music, as the genre lost perhaps its biggest star this year when Taylor Swift decided to go full-on pop for her new album. Someone even took a dig at Swift during the awards–watch the Trending 10 daily clip above to find out who!
