The 2015 BRIT Awards truly belonged to Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran (you could throw Kanye West in there, too), but if we know anything about pop music in this decade, it's that Taylor Swift will be there, holding it down for fierce ladies everywhere.
"I'm way too excited about it. I need to calm down," she gushed. "I'm so happy. It's been the most amazing slow build with my love affair with England and the U.K. [I] started out playing King's College and ending up eight years later getting ready to play sold-out Hyde Park...This first BRIT Award couldn't have come at a better time."
Taylor Swift's longstanding affinity for all things British that extends past her previous relationship with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles. She also likened her recognition in the country to her new found pop career.
"I've been very lucky that my creative evolution has taken just as long as my growth in England," she added. "I've been writing songs since I was twelve years old and with every album, changed. 1989 is my favorite by far so I'm really happy that's the one people like the most. That's really convenient for me."
