Comic book geeks have a lot to be happy about today, as a new trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil just hit the web. The lengthy second clip promoting the upcoming live-action series has a heavy focus on Kingpin, Daredevil’s arch enemy, who is played by veteran character actor Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, The Judge).
Starring Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, the show is a part of a unprecedented collaboration between Marvel and Netflix studios. The two empires will converge for four 13-episode superhero series, culminating in a synergy-frenzy miniseries called The Defenders. This first one is being overseen by Steven S. DeKnight, a screenwriter and producer best known for his work on the Starz series Spartacus and the WB/the CW's Smallville.
Created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, the first issue of Daredevil came out in 1964. In 2003, Ben Affleck played the costumed crusader in a feature-length film that grossed over $170,000,000 in box office receipts, despite its lukewarm reception.
All 13 episodes of Marvel's Daredevil will debut on Netflix on April 10.
