Ed Sheeran Loves Weed, Wrote "Sweet Mary Jane" Song About It
The only thing Ed Sheeran might like more than music and his fabulous famous friends (Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Courtney Cox and some dude from Snow Patrol, just to name a few) is marijuana. At a recent gig in New York, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer broke out a new tune dedicated to the stuff, titled "Sweet Mary Jane." No beating around the bush for this guy, eh?
Like his other love ballads, this song is slow, romantic and acoustic, with Ed referring to the green as "the one." He croons, “I woke up early looking out my bedroom window at the Amsterdam sky / Oh baby I was high last night / Cafe clouds and red lights."
At one point, he turns to the audience with “I’m so damn high / Can you see my eyes?” Watch Sheeran perform the song above, and tell us what you think in the comments below.
