LA singer-songwriter Juliet Simms returned to Vans Warped Tour this year with an arsenal: her full rock-formatted backing band, and a set teeming with tracks from her new EP All Or Nothing.
Simms is no stranger to the Vans Warped Tour, having completed multiple runs on the tour as a solo artist and as the frontwoman for her former band Automatic Loveletter, but it was a whole new Juliet that took the Journeys Stage when I caught her show at Warped Ventura. Donning the black metal band Mayhem's back patch and a bootlegged Kurt Cobain flannel, the feisty band leader belted lines from her latest release with professional ease before tossing a nod to her oldest fans with the classic "Let It Ride" closer.
After a cool set in the ocean breeze for a mix of die hards and Mod Sun stragglers, Simms dropped by to talk with Fuse about her Warped Tour homecoming, the eclectic lineup of the festival, and what fuels her perseverance in the face of a difficult industry.
