Unexpected a cappella tributes: we love them. Love the hell out of 'em. The Jurassic Park theme, an epic piece of John Williams soundtrackery—in a career that includes Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Jaws—is never unexpected for the internet. But having each of the six splitscreened vocal parts be dressed up as six of the iconic characters from the original film? Plus pitch perfect (wink), appropriately soaring and churchly orchestration and performance? This is a 10.
Jurassic World hits theaters tomorrow, June 12. Hopefully that's a 10, too. My 6-year-old self needs this. Especially after Jurassic Park III. Kind of even after The Lost World.
Cheers to YouTube's The Warp Zone channel for dishing up this Jurassic Parkappella. It's arranged entirely and performed mostly by a cappella dude Peter Hollens. He's also done cuts from The Hobbit, fun., Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games. (Accompanied by super-professional filmic productions.) The Warped Zone, meanwhile, has a cappella renditions of the Mortal Kombat theme.
