Parnormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the final film in the low-budget/high-profit horror saga that started back in 2009. "It's coming to an end," producer Jason Blum recently told USA Today. "This is it, the finale. We're saying it before the movie opens. We're not going to grind this horror franchise into the ground. This will keep Paranormal Activity as part of this culture and this particular time in a really fantastic way."
The trailer for No. 6, The Ghost Dimension, has it all: Ghosty time-travel, ghost cameras, ghost pools. Bloody Mary recitations and REDRUM-style wall art. Creepy kids and Dementor-like shades from hell. It's not as disturbing as horror trailers tend to be these days, but it's more intriguing.
Blum hypes the big conclusion like this:
"All the questions that everyone has asked from the past Paranormal Activity films: What does Toby look like? What's the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered."
He also says a reboot hasn't been discussed but that "you never know" for sure. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension was made as the end of the era—for now.
