San Diego Comic-Con is going down as we tweet, and Saturday morning gave birth to one of the weekend's biggest deals: an almost-four-minute Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. This thing is...it's a lot. Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne runs straight into what looks like the devastation that wrapped Man of Steel. Superman goes to court. The Batsuit is basically a human-shaped tank. Wonder Woman appears in costume at the 3:35 mark and turns the hell up. Also: Diane Lane's Ma Kent is back, and Holly Hunter's making our blood go cold.
"Nobody cares about Clark Kent takin' on the Batman," says Laurence "Forever Morpheus" Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White, ironically stating the exact opposite of every human being's actual No. 1 priority. Jesse Eisenberg's full-head-of-hair Lex Luthor, meanwhile, has the trailer-perfect cornball line, "Black and blue. God vs. man. Day vs. night."
Superman v. Batman: Dawn of Justice is already set to feature Supes, the Caped Crusader, Wonder Woman and Aquaman—and the trailer's making it clear that the Joker's on the loose again, as well. Cinema's new Joker, definitely too soon after Heath Ledger's iconic turn in 2008's The Dark Knight, is 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto. He's starring in Suicide Squad, the baddie-filled film due a couple months after Batman v. Superman, and now it's looking like we'll see him a little early.
Also get ready for the DC Universe's other big flick coming down the pike: a standalone Batman movie with Ben Affleck returning to the suit—and taking the director's chair.
