Twenty One Pilots are mostly new to the Lollapalooza game, but it certainly doesn't mean they're novices to the stage. "It's our second time ever playing. I remember being in this exact [press] area, doing interviews. I don't think people knew who we were," Josh Dun jokes.
"There were like 10 less people behind the camera when we did it last time but now there's more people behind the camera, that's a good thing!" Tyler Joseph added. "It's almost like we were training for this. We were playing in front of no one for a while. It's so cool to look out and see people who care about what we're doing."
The guys also gave us the 411 on their latest hit while at the fest. "The song 'Lane Boy' off our record, the song, I describe it as [our] first time breaking character," Joseph explained. "For us, music has always been about transparency. For me, 'Lane Boy' is that song on the record that you break that fourth wall and you can look at what it's like to be a normal person in our position."
