Update (9/10): After teasing in-the-studio footage, Pink's new kickass anthem "Today's the Day" has arrived in full.
The track, which doubles as the Ellen DeGeneres Show theme song, is a signature feel-good tune from the singer with the spunky lines we know and love her for. Our favorite: "I get so vicious when I don't feel delicious / I just need a friend / So much to carry, these days are kind of scary / I don't want the fun to end."
Scroll below for footage of Pink recording the theme song in the studio, which includes some adorable cameos from the rock-pop diva's daughter Willow.
Original Story (8/12): It feels like forever since we last got a new Pink jam. We got music from the "Blow Me" songstress last year via her folky side project You + Me, but it didn't have the same kickass anthems we've come to expect from the diva. That changes with "Today's the Day," a new theme song she recorded for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Watch above as Pink records the cute, rocky tune that comes with inspiring lyrics about not wanting an incredible day to end. "Somebody please stop the clock / Oh, don't ever let this day stop," she sings in her signature rasp. It's only a minute, but we can tell the song hits a nice balance of being catchy and empowering, without sounding too cheesy.
The clip above also shows Pink hanging in the studio with her daughter Willow, who's four years old now. From the vid, it looks like Willow is just as rambunctious as her mama, running and jumping around in the few seconds we get to see her.
There's no news about Pink's upcoming seventh LP yet, but rumor has it that she's working with Greg Kurstin, who worked closely with her on her No. 1 album The Truth About Love, and produced the singles "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," "Try," "True Love" and "Walk of Shame."
