It's been three (long) years since Adele blessed us with "Skyfall" from the James Bond film of the same name, and nearly five years since her record-breaking 21 album dropped. Well, after yesterday's announcement of new album 25, and now the just-released lead single "Hello" and its video (watch above), we can say she's officially back!
After teasing 30 seconds of "Hello" on British television last Sunday, the song and its visual dropped Friday at 8am in England, midnight Pacific Time in the U.S. The cinematic, 6-minute "Hello" video was directed by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan and filmed in the Montreal countryside. The male lead in the video is played by 90210 actor (and musician) Tristan Wilds, aka Mack Wilds.
The almost sepia-toned video seems to match the look of the cover photo for Adele's upcoming album, out November 20 and up for pre-sale now. Earlier this week Adele teased the album and new era with a personal, heartfelt letter explaining where she was at emotionally while writing and recording the project. She also tried to explain why we had to wait.
Don't worry, girl—after hearing "Hello," we are more than sure it's be worth the wait.
