Tinashe released one of the most electric debut albums of 2014 with Aquarius, which spawned the hit singles “2 On” and “All Hands On Deck.” During a new chat with Fuse, the R&B star says that she’s in the “final stages” of putting together her eagerly anticipated sophomore album, Joyride.
“I’m in the very, very final stages of putting some finishing touches on things, and there’s some songs on there that I’m still trying to fully wrap up,” says Tinashe, who worked with artists like Chris Brown and Young Thug on Joyride. The singer adds that there’s a standout ballad titled “Fires and Flames,” and that fans will see a new side of her on her Aquarius follow-up.
“I think that this album is different than my debut album because it definitely shows a progression,” the 22-year-old singer says, “and it shows how I’ve grown as a person, as an artist… from both a subject-matter perspective to the production.”
