#TBT 2007: Remember When Adam Levine Called the Charts 'Total Crap'?

At this point in pop-music history, the terms "Maroon 5" and "top of the charts" are essentially synonymous. But when the group visited the classic Fuse show Steven's Untitled Rock Show in 2011, they were just getting used to racking up hits and clearly weren't used to their chart-topping status.

Celebrating their first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, "Makes Me Wonder" (which originally premiered on Fuse!), Adam Levine had this to say about the accomplishments for our latest #ThrowbackThursday video:

"'This Love' and 'She Will Be Loved' were No. 1 hits, but I guess in the realm of No. 1 hits, it wasn't on the Hot 100. We know these things now, we're in the business, and we now are privy to all the different charts. You start thinking about all that—and it's total crap—and all of sudden you start taking it too seriously. And you shouldn't. It's a hit."
