#TBT 2010: Weezer Discuss Working With Lil Wayne

The pop-punkers discuss collaborating with the rapper for 2009 'Ratitude' track "Can't Stop Partying"

In 2009, Weezer released a silly pop-punk record called Ratitude. On it was the surprising single "Can't Stop Partying," featuring Lil Wayne. It was a weird marriage, but one that worked.

In an old school Fuse interview, we had to ask: Why Wayne of all the rappers in the world? "It was a suggestion with the co-songwriter with [frontman] Rivers [Cuomo] who was Jermaine Dupri," guitarist Brian Bell explained. "He suggested it. I think Rivers is a fan of his, and it was that simple."

When asked about what it's like to work with Weezy, the band launched into a series of jokes. We won't spoil them for you. Watch the interview above!

When you're done there, flip through our gallery of Rivers Cuomo's iconic sweater fashion throughout the years. It gets pretty twee.
