Travis Mills has been directly controlling all aspects of his image since day one, a hands-on approach that the singer attributes to his punk rock background.
"I was burning my own CDs, I was drawing my own album art, I was printing my own t-shirts. I came from a punk rock background, a DIY mentality. I wasn't going to wait for anyone to do it, and I think people saw it and took note of it," the 27-year-old tells SKEE TV.
Mills stressed the importance of teaching yourself skill sets instead of waiting on others to take charge, a sentiment that ties into his advice for up-and-coming acts.
"No one's gonna care more about your project than you are. You have to be the one that's steering the ship. I've been in the driver's seat, and that's something I'm really proud of."
