Last night Las Vegas was set ablaze with the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. We were there, and up-and-coming social media celebrity Trevor Moran swung by to talk to us about the evening. We had to ask: with all the YouTube famous folk navigating the magenta carpet, did it feel like a victory?
"I really think that influencers are the new 'it.' Just with Troye [Sivan] and Lindsey [Stirling,] influencers have the same push that the A-listers have, pretty much. People like Troye, it makes the industry executives want to have more influencers on board."
"There are a lot of boy artists like Troye, people that are gay that push boundaries but for me it's not even about that. It's really just expressing who you are and breaking the gender boundaries, society bullshit that pushes you back from being who you are. My brand is do what's on your mind, do what you feel, say what you want."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Watch the full interview above. When you're done, watch our chat with Lindsey Stirling below.
