Kiiara Explains the Complicated Origins of Creating 'Gold': Fuse First Interview

Kiiara's "Gold" is one of the freshest-sounding songs floating around the charts today and the Illinois singer-songwriter tells us there's a fascinating, long history behind the rising single—which is a late contender for the real song of the summer (sorry, Drake).

Fuse is proud to name Kiiara our latest Fuse First artist and gain more insight about "Gold":

"'Gold' came about two years ago, I wrote it on a classical guitar. It was just about something I learned growing up: 'You don't have to answer to anyone.' It just seemed right."

Watch above to gain more about how the song turned from acoustic to vibey to somewhere in the middle, and why it was about to be titled "W.E.L.Y.K."

Watch the full interview above for more on Kiiara's future hit. For the next month, tune in to see the "Gold" video and lots more exclusive content with our new Fuse First artist Kiiara on Fuse, Fuse.tv and on the new Fuse TV app on Apple and Android. Find Fuse in your area with our Channel Finder.
