For shoe collectors and sneakerheads, keeping your kicks in pristine condition isn't always an easy task. In Fuse's latest installment of Sole Searching, Esteban Serrano visits the Jason Markk flagship store in Los Angeles for an exclusive look at what premium shoe care entails.
Recalling his "a-ha!" moment, Markk had noticed the lack of trusted shoe care products while scrubbing away with his own homemade cleaning concoction. "There's nothing that is out there made for someone like me—nothing specialized for sneaker culture. I needed to make a shoe cleaner that people could trust."
After hiring a chemist and testing cleaners on every possible type of shoe material, Markk and his team eventually garnered major press attention. His L.A. store, which offers basic dry cleaning starting from $10, also features video games, magazines and an all-out immersion in sneaker culture.
