When Tweet was just getting her start in the industry, Aaliyah was the top R&B-pop diva and both were brought together thanks to their close work with Missy Elliott. As we remember Aaliyah on the 15th anniversary of her much-too-soon passing, Tweet recalls her lasting memory of the late star:
"I met her when Missy was recording a record we did with her, it was like I've known her all my life. The last time I saw her, she had a party in L.A. and it was like we had been friends forever; we danced all night. I can't really describe it, it was like, 'This is my girlfriend from a long time ago and hadn't known each other a long time at all."
The "It Won't Hurt Me" singer adds that Aaliyah was "such a sweet spirit" and "very genuine."
And Tweet's favorite Aaliyah cut? None other than "Rock the Boat." "I do all the dance moves," the Charlene star says, before adding with a laugh, "I think I'm on the boat."
