Imagine if Sir Elton John name-checked you AND listened to your songs AND called you the future of music. That's what the legendary songwriter did last year when he played Gallant's "Weight in Gold" on his Beats 1 Radio. And Gallant is rightly stoked about it.
"He's gonna be an artist to watch," John said back when Gallant's first single dropped, calling him the male Andra Day and predicting that he's going to be "huge." Since then, Gallant has dropped his debut album, Ology, collaborated with Seal and has been touring and working the festival circuit.
When we caught up with Gallant at the 2016 Made in America Festival in Philadelphia this weekend, he reflected on that major cosign and what is was like teaming up with Seal to perform "Weight in Gold."
