Listen to Lola Blanc Cast a Pop Spell on 'The Magic' EP: Exclusive

Lola Blanc may have gotten her big break co-writing Britney Spears' bright, bubblegum hit "Ooh La La," but the singer-songwriter and self-described "weirdo pop artist" is embracing the darkness for her new release.

Fuse is proud to premiere Blanc's new EP, The Magic, which features five bombastic pop songs centered around the star's theatrical vocals, with twisted lyrics and clever takes on love and sex baked inside. The release was previewed by the title track's cirque-du-freak-inspired music video (below), which sets the scene for the bewitching EP. See the tracklist below and get your first listen above.

1. Don't Say You Do
2. The Magic
3. Real Boy
4. Fly Away
5. One Eye Open

Blanc gave some insight about The Magic and how her past growing up in a Mormon cult shaped its concept:

"This EP is about struggling with trust, faith and belief. I grew up religious, and now more than ever I feel this overwhelming need to find honesty and realness in the world—and wishing I could believe in magic instead, because it’d just be so much easier that way. Each song deals with those things in one way or another. This idea that there’s a facade covering everything, a poker face on everyone, a way to hide what’s really there, and constantly fighting to get underneath all of it."

The Magic will be officially released on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Pre-order the EP on iTunes now and then watch the video for the title track below:
