On this exclusive episode of Sole Searching, Fuse host Esteban Serrano links up with Scotty Kickz for an all-access look inside Up NYC, the highly anticipated sneaker boutique from Kickz and hip-hop legend Fat Joe.
Before the shop's November 5 grand opening, Kickz gave viewers a peek at what sneakerheads would deem a true wonderland. "We have inventory. Everybody is mostly sold out, but we have them," the 19-year-old says, explaining that the store receives merchandise directly from Nike/Jordan, Timbaland, Puma and others.
In addition to selling the most hyped pairs out, Up NYC also features a "museum wall" of never-before-seen sneakers straight from Fat Joe's own collection. The Bronx rapper expressed via speakerphone that he hopes to positively impact his community, not just sell shoes.
"We doing it for the community, just trying to do it right," he says. "We really put our heart and soul into it...You also put the culture in there with the museum in the middle of the store, just giving 'em history."
