D.R.A.M. hit a major milestone in his career yesterday with his breakout hit "Broccoli" getting a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rap/Sung Performance. We sat down with the Virginia-bred rapper the day the news broke and got his day-of reaction.
"I was literally just talking with a friend of mine, I hadn't been asleep yet, I just typed on my Twitter," he recalls. "Somebody responded saying 'I hope the GRAMMYs don't snub you today.' I was like, 'What?' I had no idea anything was going down. Twenty minutes later, my manager calls me and he's like, 'Yo, we made it, we did it. We're on the fucking Grammys!' I'm like, 'Damn. We're nominated. And it hasn't even hit me all the way.'"
