Destructo is prepping the release of ninth project—the Renegade EP—this month, and he stopped by Fuse to dive into the music. The music executive/DJ/producer called upon seasoned and newer rap greats like E-40, Problem, Snoop Dogg, Pusha T and Ty Dolla $ign for the EP.
Breaking down his next single "Hard For the Night" (which features Snoop, Kevin Gates, Tink and Denzel Curry), Destructo said:
"It's a little more straight up just a rap tune. I figured I got the big guns so I wanted to do one that was in that lane. My songs usually build, build, build and then they shift gears. This one, the whole way through, is the same groove."
Along with the EP, the producer is also gearing up for Holy Ship!, an annual EDM festival that takes place on Norwegian Cruise Line’s “Epic." The first weekend (Jan. 6-10) will be headlined by DJ Snake, Duke Dumont, A-Trak, Boys Noize and Marshmello.
Fatboy Slim, Griz, Claude VonStroke and Maya Jane Coles plan to take over the second weekend (Jan.10-14). Next up, watch Destructo discuss the formula behind his musical creations and dive into the Holy Ship! festival even more:
