After blessing us with her 2015 GRAMMY-nominated mixtape You Should Be Here, Kehlani finally dropped her debut album, SweetSexySavage, on January 27. Chatting with Fuse, the R&B-pop singer described the project as both cohesive and multifaceted.
"I just tried to keep it relaxed, and I didn't try to outweird myself," she explains. "What I tried to get people to realize is that all of us are 'all of the above.' For example, 'Do U Dirty,' most people are like, 'Oh, that's so savage,' but there's a lot of elements of 'I'm sorry' in it."
The 21-year-old also showed love for her extremely devoted fans, who regularly check up on her cats and are genuinely concerned when she gets sick. "It's like having all my little cousins in the audience supporting me!" she laughs.
As for future endeavors, Kehlani is simply focused on making more music, creating dope t-shirts and, of course, taking care of her cats.
