When it comes to parenting, Godsmack's Sully Erna knows a thing or two about the struggles of raising kids without totally coddling them.
"We raise our children to win, to be victorious. We want to pamper them. We want to coddle them," he says. "What we need to teach them is that...life is gonna knock you down to your knees many times. It's the people who can stand back up and continue to go forward that, eventually, that moment of success will line up for them."
Erna explained that experiencing disappointment is crucial in forcing one to work even harder to prove haters wrong.
"The best feeling in the world is to be able to go back to those people that continuously chop you down and hand them a big bag of I-told-you-so's."
