The Wild Wild Brings the Uplifting Indie-Pop You Need This Week With 'Alright': Exclusive Premiere
The Wild Wild might be a new singer-songwriter in the game, but his latest track makes us think he's about to be known very quickly since we all need some feel-good, indie-pop these days.
Fuse is happy to premiere "Alright," the follow-up track from The Wild Wild (neé Benjamin Dunn) following his super-promising debut single "When We Were Young." Similar his first tune, the uplifting new cut is centered around its singalong chorus with charging guitars and bouncy synthesizers. Despite the many layers to the song, "Alright"—which boasts production credits from Jay Z and fun. collaborator Andrew Dawson—does a nice job at never feeling too overwhelming or too chill, and instead finds a nice blend for Dunn's laidback croons and punchy hooks.
"I wrote the song to myself, a sort of mantra," Dunn tells Fuse. "I just started singing, 'Everything's going to be alright' and it felt really good. The song screams about rebelliously remaining happy even in the midst of the craziness out there [and] the context is a conversation between two lovers."
2017 should boast more exciting, feel-good music from the Vevo dscr artist. I fyou're digging what you're hearing, watch the official and adorable music video for "When We Were Young" below:
