Paul Van Dyk: Madonna Made "Biggest Mistake of her Career"
Last week, Deadmau5 ranted against Madonna's appearance at Ultra Music Fest, specifically addressing Madge's drug-referring question "Have you seen Molly?" in relation to her latest album MDNA. She replied and we figured that'd by the end of it. But now, German superstar DJ Paul Van Dyk has revived the convo, telling Billboard she made "the biggest mistake of her career." Actually, Paul, her biggest mistake was this, but we'll hear you out.
"I don't think she was thinking much," the DJ/producer said. "The only thing she was probably thinking was, 'I need to connect with a young crowd,' and she made the biggest mistake of her career. Madonna was so stupid to actually call out drug abuse in front of a crowd of 18-year-olds. This is not what our music is about. It's really counterproductive."
Poor Madge. All the 53-year-old singer wanted was to be "down with the kids" and make a drug joke. But looks like it backfired, like when my mom calls it "hop hip" or asked if I've heard of Gym Class Heroes frontman "Trekkie McCoy." (True story.) Thank God Madonna's management aborted her planned body-shots-and-keg-stands promotion in Cancun. (Untrue story.)
No plans yet on if Madonna will record "L.S.D. (Loud, Sexy Dancing)" or "CRANK (Up the Music!)," but we'll let you know as soon as we hear.
