Last year our favorite twin-sister duo Tegan and Sara plunged into mainstream consciousness thanks to their hit synth-pop LP Heartthrob, a GRAMMY nom and performances with cool kids like Taylor Swift and Macklemore. It looks like their 2014 could shape up to be just as exciting if their new song "Don't Find Another Love" is any indication.
A treat for both longtime and new T&S fans, "Don't Find Another Love" reconciles the duo's acoustic-leaning roots with their recent move toward electro-pop. Over hollow guitar strums and twinkling synths—recalling a rougher reproduction of Ellie Goulding's "Lights"—the girls sing, "I'm losing my senses / I'm falling apart for us / Now I'm defenseless / I'm falling in endless love."
The tender track is lifted from the soundtrack to forthcoming romantic drama Endless Love. FYI, that flick is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name that spawned Diana Ross and Lionel Richie's classic duet "Endless Love," which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. (So no pressure, girls)
The soundtrack for the remake also features indie faves like Franz Ferdinand, NONONO, Drop City Yacht Club, Echosmith, the Bird and the Bee and more. The soundtrack drops February 11 while the movie hits theaters February 14 (Valentine's Day).
