Our first taste of One Direction's last studio album, Made in the A.M., came via "Drag Me Down." It's an upbeat, 1D banger, a tune that'll inspire you to take on the world. Other songs came and went, but it was in the "Perfect" ballad that One Direction seemed to make their mark. It was great to see the British boys tackle the tune at the 2015 American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov. 22)… they truly emoted.

During the performance, the four One Direction boys stood side by side, an elaborate light backdrop behind the four microphones. The quartet got very committed during the song, especially Harry Styles during the bridge; Louis, Niall and Liam took the opportunity to pump up the Microsoft Theatre crowd and each other.

One Direction are up for two awards this time around: Artist of the Year and Favorite Duo/Group: Pop/Rock. They've already won the latter… and won the former last year.
