Kanye West started up a weekly pre-Swish new music series on Friday with "Real Friends" and a snippet of a Kendrick Lamar duet, "No More Parties in LA." Now the former's already got a remix from Erykah Badu, still floating above us all off the success of her late bid for 2015 best-of lists, the But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape.

"Trill Friends : Badu Whodini" is dubbed a rough mix and features an interpolation of Badu's Phone cut "I'll Call U Back." The singer's caption says she's "messin round this mornin (really suppose be recording something else ...)," and that "Trill Friends" is from another mixtape en route, THIS $h!t TOO EASY.

It feels right that Badu would grab the decidedly (creepily?) Drake-y "Real Friends" and make it her own. She returned in October to the tune of "Hotline Bling," significantly rejiggered into an extended riff that would appear on her mixtape as "Cel U Lar Device." It's not hard to imagine "Trill Friends" as a Badu original that eventually made its way to Kanye.
