Last summer we told you that new Dashboard Confessional music is on the way. You might've forgotten, so consider this your friendly reminder: Chris Carrabba and crew are back at it, and it's going to be awesome.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Carrabba sat down and detailed just what we can expect from the release. He told the pub:

“I don’t have any idea of a release date or a worry about one for that matter but I’m really excited to be doing it because I don’t think it’s ever felt this much like the beginning again...No one’s paying attention. No one’s looking over my shoulder to see how the songs are going or when the record’s coming out. There are no notes from anybody. I’m just quietly toiling away like I did on my first album [2000’s The Swiss Army Romance].”

The brave soul who conducted the interview even decided to ask Carrabba about the certain emo/pop-punk Renaissance taking place these days, one not-so-lovingly dubbed "emo revival." Turns out Chris is totally here for the phrasing, adding, "We were revived so that term works for me. We literally did go away.” Read the full interview here.

Get stoked and watch an old interview with Carrabba from 2013, smack dab in the middle of Dashboard Confessional's once-indefinite hiatus.
